Monday, April 23rd8:00 to 8:20A.M.The morning of your first day starts with a fog thick enough to keep most drivers off of the road, dampening most of the flyers for the newly opening shopping mall that littered the main road between the magnetic train from the commercial district to other areas of the island. As you make your way to school, you feel your heads buzzing, like a headache you already had, but hadn't noticed. Edogawa High is a pristine group of buildings, one four-story and two two-story with baby blue walls, ornate columns at the ends of each of them and cherry blossom trees evenly spaced in the main courtyard at the front of the campus every square inch is almost literally sparkling, no doubt polished left and right in preparation for the beginning of the school year. Even then the well groomed splendor of the school is dreadfully outshined by the ten-story monstrosity gated by ribbon overlooking the school not even five blocks away. Perception DC 8
One exhausted-looking third year is napping behind one of the columns on either side of the main building, using a collection of cleaning supplies as blankets and pillows, though understandably shifting in his sleep, agitated by the damp air around him.

I really hope I know someone in my class... she thought as she walked as quickly as she could towards the main building to check class assignments. Before she got there though she noticed the odd person. She couldn't very well leave them out here. Walking over she tries to rouse them. "Hey! Um... Sako rolled out of bed late as per usual, much to his mothers disapproval but whats she going to do with a boy this defiant. Eventually he made his way to school, his uniform looking less than appropriate with no jacket and his sleeves rolled up. Taking a few puffs from a cigarette, One of my last, gotta get Haruka to hook me up again he though as he wandered towards school. Walking with his head down and his bag slung over his shoulder, he finishes his cigarette and headed into the main building, High school eh? this could get interesting.Y8gK7doa2d6 Perception

Chiyo arrives off the train, quite cheerful today. She got some actual sleep last night and was hoping things were to change in the future... Until a headache came about. She meets up with Aoi and head over to the school talking about various things. Once they approach the towering gates she pauses and stares in awe. Aoi practically has to pull her in to break her from her daze and have her proceed inside. She notes the odd third year but she knows the pain he's probably going through, she also notes another student approaching with concern. Chiyo decides to head in after that and head to class.

It had been a restless night. But then Kin had had several since Rin and his mother had moved. Probably just nerves. It was a fair enough assessment and he was not looking forward to the questions that would spring up from people that hadn't heard. He tries not to dwell on it as he quickly hurries out the door. Still, now that he was actually walking up to the school, it might not be so bad. The department store in the background made it a bit less picturesque but it still had it's charms. He almost missed the snoozing student. The girl that was trying to wake the boy up was probably what caught his eye. Kin slows to a stop just before the main hall before deciding to check it out. "Errr...why's he sleeping here?" He cautiously asks the girl. "Need some help?"I'm bad AhENKzcY1d20

Maeda, Sako, and Suzume
The 3rd year tries to shake off the musician's reproach, muttering "five more minutes, man, five mo-snnnn". The brown-haired, spindly senior turned away from his kohai, squishing several different scrub pads and rags. For a moment, that is, because the instant Soseki passes by, the third year jolts awake and scrambles to his feet, brandishing a spray bottle of a mysterious purple liquid.
"Hey punk! I spent literally all night helping make sure our school was in perfect condition. Do you think I'm going to let some punk like you stink it up with tobacco? You're coming with me to the locker room to wash out that scent! Are you even listening?"

Luckily enough, both the shrine girl and her buddy have an easy time spotting a bulletin board with the class listings, with the first year homerooms towards the bottom of the bulletin reaching the floor. As the blue-haired insomniac travelling with Chiyo kneels down to get a better look, he immediately and forcefully slams his hands over his ears, trying and failing to keep his grunts of pain inaudible. The slim youth recovers surprisingly quickly, unclenching within three seconds of the sudden outburst, and looking up to his friend with a sheepish grin.
"Hey, we're in the same homeroom: 1-C!"

"No clue" Suzume responds to Kin. After the kids sudden outburst she shakes her head "Guess he's fine though." She starts making her way inside, back to looking for the class list. Still talking to Kin on the way she asks "Do you know which class you're in yet?"

The annoying noise in his ear stopped Soseki in his tracks. Turning to look at the source of the noise he looked the boy up and down. Hmpf, my first day and i get to have some fun He though as he took the final drag from his cigarette and removed it from his mouth. One hand stuffed in his pocket and the other poised to flick the cigarette bud, Soseki blew out a cloud of smoke.
"Well, i think that might have been a big waste of time then, don't ya think 'Senpai'" After the overly exaggerated and sarcastic last word, Soseki flicked the bud at the guy before grinning and going to walk away.

Kin goes through a quick list of 'helpful' ways to wake up. The acrid smell of smoke ruins whatever thoughts he was having. Oh, and the fact that the third year kipped up so quickly. He flinches as the two snap at each other. He thinks of butting in but Soseki did deserve it. "No..." Kin replies to the girl, "Just got here. Haven't checked yet. I wonder where we find out?" He begins to head out shortly afterward, having forgotten to say anything about going to find out.

Chiyo jumps surprised and looks over at Aoi with concern, "a-are you okay?" her eyes drift to her homeroom and smiles for a moment before looking back over at Aoi. "What just happened?" She'd kneel down beside him wide eyed at what had happened. Even then she can barely hold in her excitement however.

Kenichi, Kin, KasumiThe two incoming freshmen walk into the lobby of the main building just to see their blue-haired acquaintance doubled-over, hand clutching his ears in front of the listings for first year-classes next to a relatively tall long-haired girl (that Maeda would recognize as Chiyo). If you strain your ears a little, you think you can overhear them talking. Aoi gives Chiyo a fairly fake smile before taking a second to remember who he was talking to. He looks at her almost not believing. "You don't hear it? That low buzzing sound that almost feels like it isn't there? Isn't it driving you crazy?" As that's going on, the third-year from before shoves the door wide open muttering something like " Fucker thinks he's so smart, wait until the principal hears this, what is this school coming to"

Chiyo speaks in a quiet tone like normal, "yeah, but it doesn't hurt too much... I thought it was just me, but you're hearing it too? Could it be another--" her question is cut short by the doors being shoved open with a bang as the third-year stomps in, her timidness causes her to reply with a quiet "eek!" from the sudden noise.

Suzume almost didn't notice over the commotion of the third year and the scary kid but the buzzing she noticed earlier got fairly loud for a second. I hope I'm not getting sick on my first day... She thought, until she noticed a kid covering his ears. Oh. Maybe something is causing that noise. She heads over to the pair. She felt like she knew that girl... and oh that's Aoi. She's seeing people from middle school already! "Hey, are you ok?" She asked when she got close, still oblivious that Aoi hadn't particularly been a fan of her.

Soseki laughed as he watched the older kid storm off.
Moving towards the doors of the main building he takes his time and heads towards the board that a bunch of others were gathered around. He rubbed the back of his head, the buzzing starting to get annoying before he made his way to the bored.
No words came from his mouth but he made his way through the small crowd with a look that demanded people to move.
After leaning down and seeing what homeroom class he was going to be skipping for the year, Soseki gave a brief "Hmpf" Before he headed off to get the lay off this new school. His mind turned to find the roof as a priority.

After Soseki's outburst, Kin isn't exactly surprised by the door suddenly being slammed open behind him. He flinches a little but continues towards the Bulletin Board and the two familiar faces. He gives a small wave as he walks up with the girl from outside. He was concerned about Aoi but he didn't feel like repeating the others questions. "Hey. So there really is a sound? Thought I was imagining it since..." Kin trails off. "I uh didn't sleep well. Figured it was a headache or something."
Turning his attention to the board, he searches for his name. "So, Think we'll all be in the same home room? Maybe they'll be able to tell which Maeda I am this time," he says jokingly. They had mentioned Rin moving away before the semester had ended. Hadn't they?

Nobody seems to pay you much mind as you climb four sets of stairs, but your pilgrimage to the roof is brought to an unfortunate end by a locked door. Several third years give you odd looks, probably not expecting a first year to be on their class floor.
Kasumi, Kenichi, Kin
Aoi nods, and starts to open his mouth to say something, then realizes who he's talking to. The blue-haired student thinks better of it, and stands back up at his full height.
"We should get going Chiyo, class 1-C awaits!"

I guess he's alright... She doesn't really notice that he purposefully wouldn't talk to her. She has a look at the board, trying to find her name. "Well I'd hope so, Rin. I'm in 1-C, what about you?" She says this without looking up, and is once again oblivious to her mistake, as she checks what class Varuna is in.

Chiyo smiles slightly and nods to Aoi, relieved to be getting away from the crowd. She looks at Aoi as they walk away and curiously asks "Did something happen between you two?"
She wonders how high school will be and if Aoi's trend of falling asleep in class will continue, only the future will tell. Hopefully this headache would go away soon.

Kin almost smiles. If Rin's name was still on the list the teacher, he doubted they would be able to tell the difference either. The fact that she wasn't with him to enjoy the mistake got a small frown instead. Rather than correct the girl, he just answers her question, "Hmmm...oh yea. I'm in 1-C too." It was sure to cause some confusion later but Kin wasn't really thinking about it. He tries to perk up as he sets to head out for the classroom, "I guess I'll see you in class then."

Suzume finds Varuna and, satisfied, makes her way to class. Well things haven't been to weird so far. Except whatever that annoying sound is. She tries popping her ears, worried about Tinnitus. Touching her cornet case for comfort she thinks to herself Alright. Time to do this. Lets go! Suzume makes her way to the class and starts looking for empty seats and people she knows, preferably empty seats besides people she knows.
